To thoroughly implement fire safety requirements, strengthen fire safety awareness among all employees of Kunming Security Group, enhance capabilities in fire prevention and control, emergency response, and self-help and mutual assistance, and effectively fortify the company’s safety production defense line, on the morning of April 1, Kunming Security Group specially invited instructors from the Kunming Training Corps of the National Fire Rescue Bureau to conduct a specialized fire safety training session at Kunming City Security Guard Co., Ltd. A total of 80 participants, including safety officers from various departments, subsidiaries and branch companies of Kunming Security Group, as well as key frontline personnel from supervised enterprises, attended the training.

The Kunming Training Corps of the National Fire and Rescue Bureau, as a specialized training institution directly under the Ministry of Emergency Management, boasts profound professional expertise and extensive practical experience in fire-fighting training and realistic, combat-oriented drills. On this occasion, the invited instructors, drawing on their many years of experience in fire-fighting education and emergency rescue operations, delivered a specialized training session that seamlessly integrated theoretical instruction with hands-on practice for all participants.

At the outset of the training, instructors delivered on-site instruction in a “theory-plus-case-study” format, closely aligned with the practical realities of the security industry. The session provided a detailed exposition on core topics such as fire safety laws and regulations, identification and elimination of common fire hazards, techniques for extinguishing incipient fires, and methods for evacuating and escaping from fire scenes. Throughout the training, instructors drew on recent, high-profile fire incidents to conduct an in-depth analysis of the root causes of fires, their patterns of spread, and the severe consequences they can entail. Particular emphasis was placed on fire safety precautions for key areas during security operations, including office spaces, duty stations, and material storage facilities. In addition, instructors corrected common misconceptions and operational blind spots among trainees in their day-to-day fire safety practices. They also explained the proper procedure for calling 119, ensuring that all participants gained a comprehensive understanding of fundamental fire safety theory and developed a deep appreciation for the importance and urgency of fire safety work.

Following the theoretical instruction, the session moved on to hands-on practice. Drawing on the specific characteristics of security work, the instructors demonstrated the proper procedures for using dry powder fire extinguishers and fire hydrants on site. They provided a detailed breakdown of the “one lift, two pull, three grip, four press” mnemonic for operating fire extinguishers, as well as the complete sequence for connecting fire hose lines to hydrants and deploying fire nozzles. Special emphasis was placed on safety precautions throughout the procedures, such as positioning oneself upwind when using a fire extinguisher and aiming directly at the base of the flames, and ensuring that multiple personnel work together when operating a fire hydrant to prevent hose entanglement. Subsequently, participants were divided into groups for practical exercises, with instructors providing individual guidance as they moved among the groups. Any instances of improper technique or unfamiliarity with the procedures were promptly corrected, and instructors patiently addressed all operational questions raised by the trainees, ensuring that each participant fully masters the use of firefighting equipment and effectively enhances their emergency response capabilities.

This training program was both comprehensive and highly targeted, featuring systematic theoretical instruction as well as practical, real-world drills. It effectively addressed the participants’ knowledge gaps in fire safety, further strengthened their sense of responsibility for fire safety and their ability to respond to emergencies, and achieved the training objectives of “using training to promote learning, using learning to enhance practice, and using practice to strengthen prevention.” Participants unanimously stated that they would apply the knowledge gained in this training flexibly in their daily work, proactively identify fire safety hazards in their immediate surroundings, rigorously implement fire safety management systems, and conscientiously fulfill their fire safety duties.

Going forward, Kunming Security Group will take this specialized training as an opportunity to continuously strengthen fire safety publicity and education as well as realistic, practical drills; establish a regularized fire safety training mechanism; constantly enhance the Group’s overall fire safety management; effectively prevent all types of fire incidents; and build a robust fire safety safeguard to support the company’s high-quality development.
